Leadership & Government of the UKB
Learn about the governance structure and leadership vision of the United Kingdoms of Bamenda — a hybrid system rooted in traditional authority and modern democratic practices.
UKB’s Governance Philosophy
The governance system of UKB is founded on the principles of people-centered leadership, cultural dignity, and decentralized participation. Leadership exists to serve, protect, and empower all citizens, ensuring justice, transparency, and opportunity across all regions and kingdoms.
National Leadership: Executive Council
The Executive Council is the supreme organ of the UKB government. It includes:
-
Head of State: Ceremonial unifier of the nation
-
Prime Minister: Head of government, overseeing all ministries
-
Council of Ministers: Oversee strategic national functions in education, healthcare, justice, infrastructure, foreign affairs, digital economy, and more.
Each ministry must report transparently and is accountable to both parliament and the people.
Kingdom Councils & Regional Governance
The UKB honors traditional rulers and integrates them through Kingdom Councils, which govern at regional and district levels. These councils include:
-
Paramount chiefs
-
Local elders
-
Civil administrators
-
Community representatives
Their role is to safeguard culture, promote development, and mediate local governance through collaboration with national ministries.
Legislative Structure
UKB’s proposed National Assembly serves as a legislative arm composed of elected representatives and traditional delegates. Its responsibilities include:
-
Lawmaking
-
National budget approval
-
Oversight over the Executive Council
This bicultural representation ensures harmony between modern governance and traditional values.
The Electoral Commission
An independent UKB Electoral Commission manages all elections and referenda. Its key functions are:
-
Voter registration and education
-
Ensuring free, fair, and peaceful elections
-
Enforcing electoral ethics and campaign financing laws
It reports directly to the people and the judiciary.
